BarHugger Posted July 28, 2014 Share What is the gradient and distance of the hill from Silverstar to Macs Snacks ? Easy......... Do the following: Install Google Earth and start program.Search for specific road section in question.Zoom in to desired level (so that you can see everything clearly).Activate "Ruler" icon (next to envelope icon at top of screen) - small screen opens up.Click on "Path" tab - set measuring units.Mark route in question with dots using mouse and clicks.Once completed click on "Save" button.Give route a name - save - measuring line turns to red.Right click on red line - dialog box opens up.Click on "Show Elevation Profile" (second command from bottom). Sit back in amazement and enjoy the information on screen..........easy!!!!(all info at bottom of pic similar to the one attached) Post when completed!! BarHugger Posted July 28, 2014 Share ......and once you finished the route in real life.......you can play around with some software to calculate and monitor your performance. Screengrab form BikeCalculator (http://bikecalculator.com) for route profile in above picture.
