They have done away with social tandems this year. Only 1 group of racing tandems and its supposedly only 30 strong. The rest of the tandems are slotted in purely according to their seeding. It was mentioned in the email. But I think how they have done it is probably the best solution, as you say some of the slower tandems where a hazard. now the tandems you have in your group will be just as quick as you. Help them up the hills and you will love them on the fast sections.

Going to be a lot of accidents.....

My first attempt this year.

Where can I check the degree and distance of each climb as I want to do some training?

I've checked the route profile but it doesn't give the details of each climb.

Thanks- It's only my 3rd race so don't know much where to check or work out these things.

Looking at some of the pics from the fastest oke's in Group L (this years 2A the way I see it), race is fairly bunched up till about Muizenberg or so, possibly even Simonstown. And the latter parts (Chappies, Suikerbos) looks like a fairly open road.

I rode from "U" last year. Roads are very congested from there.

Feeling left out only being in 2B, if you guys are aiming for 3:10  - 3:15. I am gonna have to ride like hell just to catch you guys. Maybe the congestion will play in my favor if I can squeeze through on the right. (and not burn too much fuel too early :P)

I'm also in 2A, seems to be the popular group!

I did 3:17 from E (although I did get dropped, so take that as you may) last year. That was also my last road race...so not expecting much more this year...unless I can hang onto the rest of you guys ;)
