Aluman Posted September 25, 2014 Share Went shopping for gloves this weekend and thought that a nice day-glow colour for the gloves will also help when giving hand signals in the traffic. In 3 cycle shops could not find anything but a little red or blue but mostly the gloves are black with grey and whitetops. Do you get such items or is it a fashion thing with the colour range changing every year.
Hairy Posted September 25, 2014 Share you are glamorising commuting ... expect the gloves to get dirty and to take lots of abuse ... leave day glow the the guys wearing lycra to the aerobics classes also take a look at the motor cycle shops and see the Moto cross gloves .... very well priced and tough vs MTB std gloves. 2wheelsgood, J∆kk∆ls and SimpleDom
cfcjim Posted September 29, 2014 Share What Mr H said (apart from the grammar of course  ), forget about how bright they are, comfort is everything. Summer MX gloves are the way to go. Also they offer much better protection than MTB gloves when you drop it. And you will.......It's just a matter of time........ 2wheelsgood and Hairy

2wheelsgood Posted October 16, 2014 Share I got these earlier this year and they're decent: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E9RPT1A/ref=twister_B00L18P8K2 They're not quite day-glow but I think still eye-catching. but yeah the palms don't stay white long they've been in the machine a few times no problem. Back of the hand material wicks sweat nicely.
Sportsworld.co.za Posted October 16, 2014 Share Hi Aluman I understand the importance of commuting and hear where you're coming from. Great idea. The brightest we sell are these: RRP R260NOW R180 http://www.sportsworld.co.za/img/p/873-2253-large.jpg The silver lining on the top of the yellow is highly reflective as well. You can get them here:http://www.sportsworld.co.za/product.php?id_product=873 Check the highly reflective strips on these same pair (just in black): Hope this helps dennis@sportsworld.co.za Edited October 16, 2014 by Sportsworld.co.za Long Wheel Base
J∆kk∆ls Posted October 16, 2014 Share I use bright yellow Defeet Wooly gloves which are ridiculously visible at day and night. They keep my hands warm too in those early commutes to work. However its true what Hairy says. They get dirty quick and I don't see them lasting a full year, plus I doubt they would offer much protection in a wipe. MX gloves are a winner!Check out these bad boyshttp://www.sportissue.com/2013-thor-mx-void-rockstar-motocross-gloves/
SimpleDom Posted December 2, 2014 Share I'm done with buying "nice" mtb gloves. They just get hammered by my commuting. These motocross things look like the answer. Hairy

But at that price, and then they hardly last a season of commuting....
