Dit was net so oor die R7000. Okay dit is baie geld maar dit is 'n FS. Dieselfde gehalte in 'n hard tail sal seker so R5000 kos. As dit by fietse kom dink ek die Merida reeks is heelwat goed.

RABUBI Posted September 13, 2006 Share Probeer Cycle house in Pta noord. Ek het laas jaar vir my 'n silverback(deore/XT mix) vir so 3500 gekoop, baie goeie waarde vir geld (012 5469855) Of Karstens cycles in Zambesi, hulle pryse is ook baie goed (012 8081880).

It all depends on how much you have to spend, but if your finances are not too healthy, then a Full Suspension bike would be out the question. The Silverbacks/Raleighs are a good entry level Hard Tail's (+- R 3k) whose parts can be upgraded as and when finances allow. Before you purchase from a particular shop, phone around, you'll be surprised how bike shops like to undercut each other.
_Daemon_ Posted September 13, 2006 Share Rather a cheap hardtail than a cheap FS that does not work right and bobs all over the place. Also depends on what type of riding you plan on doing. Full on XC racing, get a lightweight hardtail e.g giant xtc, longer enduro ride, XC FS e.g giant anthem, riding with buddies all day and playing around a little get a all mountain FS, like the Giant Trance or if you want to do more serious drops/technical decents, but not quite DH racing yet, get something like a giant reign/ac, or if you want to do dirtjumping, skatepark riding etc. get something like the Giant STP hardtail. btw I am a Giant fan
Wheelsuck Posted September 14, 2006 Share Also had the same scenario wanted mtb but $$$$ issue and went on the whole soektog. Check the Multi Magazine, first page there are GTs on special from Leighs in KZN, but they can work something out as the agent is in JHB. Maybe an Idea if u want to go GT.
