Pantani Posted September 13, 2006 Share Yeah, cos half the Pro Peleton will be exposed as drug cheats on Sunday night, not much point in having the race since they all gonna be sent home!

Seepglad Posted September 15, 2006 Share OOOh, that will be terrible.... Do you think there should be a Giro?
WorcesterWheelers Posted September 15, 2006 Share OOOh' date=' that will be terrible....Do you think there should be a Giro?[/quote'] Yes, and a TOUR DE EDEN and a RAPPORT TOUR and.... and.... and.... Cycling is apparently the fastest growing sport in the country, surely there must be big corporate sponsors that would be keen to get involved in sponsoring such events? P.S. Marius, how far have you progressed with your negatiations with GRAND WEST for a sponsorship of a big ACT seeding event for the Western Cape? Old Dog Posted September 15, 2006 Share Actually more than just a rumour now - I was told by a rider from a team that would otherwise definitely participate that it is off their calendar for next year. The organisation of cycling in SA seems to be falling apart with the demise of the Burger and now a probability of our only UCI listed event. And stupid comments like all our pro riders are drug cheats doesn't do much to promote sponsorships!!
Seepglad Posted September 16, 2006 Share Well, news to me, and I am the newly-appointed Giro organiser (AND I have received my start-payment, access to a budget, a support team, top sponsorships, and have just been to the Tour of Britain as an observer, and as a "friend" of their organisation.) I do believe you may rest assured, and tell them rumor-mongers that life is great at the Cycle Tour Trust offices! Regards, Carinus ps: press releases, team invites and other info going out before month-end regarding Giro 2007. pps: Old Dog, be so kind as to furnish me an email to carinus@gmail.com with name and contact info regarding the rider who supplied you with the disconcerting news, so I may also put his mind at rest and issue an invite! TDFN Posted September 16, 2006 Share You tell them Latrinus. good luck with facing all the rumor-mongers. Just blow them out of the water.....................Druga and all!!
Old Dog Posted September 16, 2006 Share On this particular issue I am pleased to be corrected as I would be sad to see the demise of the Giro del Capo. Info came from TBL people.

pedal Posted September 17, 2006 Share Carinus.... Good Luck, and nice to hear the rumour is ' just that' also heard this and was rather worried, for the sake of cycling. Old Dog, I can assure you will also be happy, as cycling is the winner. Far to many 'powers that be' forget it's the cyclist who gives us so much joy, not the organiser, official or marshall. The wheel turns for all.How many sleeps till the Giro......?????
