Any input/advice on the new entry lever Gopro?

R1995 seems a good way to get some 'action footage'?

I would look at the hero3 white rather.same specs if i'm not mistaken?

Cape union mart has them marked down to R2999 from R3599.

The ability to carry a spare battery and use it outside the casing is worth the extra to me...

fair points, why would you use it out of the casing?

Better sound quality, allows for a smaller lighter and more low profile mounting  of the camera.

used with an accessory called the frame that protects the camera-body.

RE Battery, poor battery performance is gonna drive you mal....get a skeleton back door and tap an external battery into that thing...OR if its gonna get wet (not diving and not ideal anyway cause drops on the lens are inevitable and will ruin that shot) sacrifice a spare full backdoor and drill a hole into it...slap a external battery onto it.

Anyone here tried the Garmin Virb Elite?

Not a bad camera.has some usable features.gps/heart-rate/speed etc 16mp still pics not as small as the GP though.

but for the money my money is still on the market leader.

I bought myself last week, video quality is pretty good ( I will post an upload later), stills are not the best (5mp) time lapse also only have an option of 0.5s, but the battery life is beyond excellent!!!!!!
