looking for XT brake lever

So my XT brake lever died (M785). I disassembled it (including the parts you are not supposed to disassemble) and basically it's buggered.

Frustration is that Shimano do not bring individual levers into the country anymore.

sooo

does anyone have one going begging somewhere I can buy?

Or does someone have one with a broken blade that I can have (or salvage parts off)

OK so the lever is the older i-spec, not i-spec-B which obviously becomes problematic as my shifters wont fit.

Seriously *** design . Thanks shimano

Alex wc45 - the XTR ones are sold

How did the lever fail?

There is a way apparently that can make the different ispec types fit together, maybe worth trying if it'll make your life easier.

the piston inside the lever stuck in. I disassembled and soaking in paraffin, no help.

Maybe drop the whole lever in boiling water and see if some heat can help? Never know and seeing the lever is going in the bin if it can't be resurrected maybe its worth a try.

I tried a number of things and so knowing I was going to replace it...well lets just say its not going to be able to be reused now :)

Yes, get hold of Lindsay Steyn at Dennehof 023 541 1227. He has a set with the right hand clamp broken.

Had a similar request few weeks ago as I also had to replace type A left. Was lucky enough that Torque Zone could revive it for me but along the road to recovery the guys at Hatfield cycles mentioned that Shimano has an "adaptor" of some sort that allows the older type shifters to accept the newer Type B brakes
