wazi Posted March 11, 2015 Share So looking at these three weapons:All of them just a little shy of R30k. So far I'm favouring the Scott, mostly because of the remote lockout for the rear shock.Any other thoughts in the details between the three? NicNacDH Posted March 11, 2015 Share My favorite would be the Trek, that color is .Reba and monarch shock is the next on the plus list. Also the rims should go a long way. Those said, i believe it is quite a personal choice.

wazi Posted March 11, 2015 Share Is a remote lockout something that you'd miss? I don't miss it on the front but maybe on the rear? Edited March 11, 2015 by wazi

Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted March 11, 2015 Share Is a remote lockout something that you'd miss? I don't miss it on the front but maybe on the rear?No its not. Flip the lever on the monarch and you're there. Monarch is a better shock anyway. RockShox fork is far better and the wheels are light years ahead the nerd

delko Posted March 11, 2015 Share Trek got some nice lifetime warranties on their frames.
Helpmytrap Posted March 11, 2015 Share Drivetrain wise, the Fuji has the best spec of the three with the Scott coming in last.
Odinson Posted March 12, 2015 Share The Trek - without a shadow of a doubt. The Reba and Monarch combo is fantastic and it has a good blend of drivetrain components. The Fuji also looks like it has a pretty long TT, so it won't be as nippy in the bends as the other two.
EmptyB Posted March 12, 2015 Share Trek without a hesitation!!
Eugene Posted March 12, 2015 Share The nice thing about the Scott is that you will probably get a new triangle at some point after yours breaks. I would choose Trek.
Pusher Posted March 12, 2015 Share According to the spec's the Scott is a 9 speed!
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted March 12, 2015 Share According to the spec's the Scott is a 9 speed! It's not, though. XT doesn't come in 9 speed at that level, and the front is a double. AFAIK you don't get matching shifters with 2x & 9 speed. Plus, it's cycle grab. NicNacDH
