How do you wash your water bottle?

Recommended Posts

Within weeks after a new water bottle gets used it becomes slimy and smooth on the inside – even with just water and no juices! I found that shaking it with coarse sand and water helps, also diluted JIK solution. But this is a schlepp! What is your secret chemical remover of slime on the inside of your water bottle?

USN bottles I use a brush for the inside.

Cap, I remove the rubber nipple completely and use a thin camelback brush in there.

I get powder sediment, and protein in there too.

My bottles have a tough life :whistling:

Slime?! That's quite disgusting.

Mine goes into the dishwasher. Alternatively, hot water and dishwashing liquid. A good rinse with Milton once a week should keep the bacteria and so at bay.
