Lurch the stalker Posted May 19, 2015 Share I do get your point that they should be moving with the times, but, everyone also has a computer in this day and age, and it only took a few minutes to do...

Patchelicious Posted May 19, 2015 Share I know. I have told our IT department that many times! It is because most people don't understand the difference between time spent vs output as a measure of productivity. Your IT department doesn't care about your productivity, take it to your COO or CFO. There have been tons of studies done that if you block your employees social internet and force them to use their own devices to access Social Media/Internet, they are less productive. Give them access and they work "better", if managed correctly. Some light reading on the matter. http://www.forbes.com/sites/jeannemeister/2013/04/18/want-to-be-a-more-productive-employee-get-on-social-networks/ http://news.thomasnet.com/imt/2013/04/17/does-social-media-make-workers-more-productive http://hiring.monster.com/hr/hr-best-practices/workforce-management/employee-performance-management/blocking-social-media-us.aspx Edited May 19, 2015 by Patchelicious

I have tried talking to the people who make the calls, but when they're past their 50s and don't understand social media, they tend not to listen. This is besides the topic at hand however.
