The more one uses it, the better it is. IMHO, for less than 5 races in the year one won't break even, thereafter it becomes worth it. I have two Garmin devices. I also have patience. Longest I had to wait for Garmin points to reflect was two days. It could have been a parkrun, as those take 4 days to reflect, so hang in there!
