Roof rails and carrier - Thule vs Evo

I'm looking to buy a set of rails and a carrier and have come across Thule and Evo brands. There is a significant price difference between the two brands for the aluminum rails - about R4000 for Thule and R1000 for Evo. I am leaning towards the Evo rail and carrier mainly for the price:

Is anyone out there using these products? Any experiences to share? Go or no go. Seems there are few alternatives in terms of brands.

I recently got myself a full suspension bike making my boot mounted bike rack less desirable as it is damaging the rear suspension when mounted.

I have the Thule wingbars and 2 prorides. I didn't want to cut corners with R100k worth of bikes on the roof. The racks are super easy to load too and are very sturdy. Another bonus is that you can lock the bikes on the roof and the racks are locked to the roof too. They are expensive but I think worth the piece of mind.

You get what you pay for.  The Evo will work no doubt.  But will it still be 100%  in 5 years time?  I can't say.

I can say for my for my Thule's  -  and they are around 8 years old and seldom come off my roof (so pretty much 8 years of weather and still good).

Then again, for the price variation you could buy 2 or 3 sets of the Evo's for the price of one Thule.

Your call....

Thanks for your comments. Would rather go with your experience with Thule racks.

Also looked at the second hand market and noticed only Thule features there. Says a lot about durability.
