Spanky27 Posted March 10, 2016 Share Hi All I need some help, I have a set of Carbon Tubular Rims with DT Swiss 240s hubs front and rear and Tufo Tubular tires.Hubs are both QRThe wheels are extremely light(don't know the exact weight) I have no idea what these wheels are worth, can someone please help with a decent price for this?I am looking at buying a set of cane creek wheels and hubs, should i rather keep my carbon wheels or is it a good decision to go for the cane creeks tubeless rims? One of the reasons for thinking about changing to tubeless rims are that i would like to go slightly wider on the tires, at the moment I have 1.95's. I don't know if you can go any wider with tubular tires and what tubular tires cost. Tubeless tires are so much easier to find. Thanks in advance. the nerd Posted March 10, 2016 Share I would get those hubs built over onto other rims... Narrow tubulars would struggle to sell and the hubs will still be solid... my 2c

If they're 24, as I suspect they are, rather flog the wheelset complete and buy something new. A 24 spoke wheelset is just asking for ***, especially on a 29er. the nerd

It has sealed bearing Cane Creek hubs. What would be a good price to pay for them without tires?
droo Posted March 10, 2016 Share No idea on price, that's a pretty niche product so you'll probably end up waiting quite a while for the right buyer. As for the CC wheels, I wouldn't. With MTB wheels my advice is always to go for a handbuilt set with 32 double butted J bend spokes, built by a decent wheel builder. If they're properly built they'll last close to forever. Anything with proprietary or straight pull spokes is difficult and often expensive to get spares for. the nerd, divernick and David Marshall

I checked my spokes and I see that they look like J bend blade spokes if I am correct?I know these rims were hand build, but don't know by who. The reason I want to go to something else is that tubular tires aren't easy to find and I would like to go slightly wider (maybe 2.2) and don't know if you get any wider tubular tires. It also seems to me that the tubular tires are quite expensive.
