madbradd Posted April 6, 2016 Share whats the difference between this and the float as per pic. Looks like technically it's the same thing - (ie the problems you're having with yours would be exactly the same as on this one. The Step-Cast has a slightly narrower crown (stanchions are closer together), different lowers (The lowers transition from a tube to a "beam" lower down to accommodate the brake disk and hub, and the arch is not a "half circle" , but slightly fuller "circle" to get around the tyre and still line up with the narrower crown. So functionally (in terms of the suspension) it's exactly the same, but with less material in the lowers. Pikey Posted April 6, 2016 Share Narrower profile and step at the bottomOh and only accept a max 2.3 tyre but would presume ppl who want to use this fork wouldn't want to run anything bigger than 2.2. But it's still limiting. Hairy
madbradd Posted April 6, 2016 Share but would presume ppl who want to use this fork wouldn't want to run anything bigger than 2.2. But it's still limiting. Exactly. It's an out and out XC racing fork. So the guys using this are not going to be running 2.4 tyres with chunky tread patterns. Also this fork is max 100mm, not the like the "normal" version. Rocket-Boy Posted April 6, 2016 Share whats the difference between this and the float as per pic.Hollow lowers and a fair big less weight really. Also the TA is a 6mm allen and not a QR end to save weight.
Meezo Posted April 6, 2016 Share How do they compare to Chunky grips?? i fitted mine this weekend rode them on my trance, i prefer to ride with no gloves, and these were grips were amazingballs! doubt i'll buy ESi's again, mainly because of its pricing, problem is with luvhandles its so cheap once the market catches on its gonna be the "new" ESi's, waiting for me next pay, going to buy 10 pairs. should last a nice stint Hairy
News bot Posted April 6, 2016 Share Starting at 2.98 pounds, the 32 Step- Cast (SC) fork is our lightest cross- country fork ever. Optimized for 100 mm of travel, the Step-Cast lower leg design and narrow crown spacing save weight while the 32 mm upper tubes maintain FOX ride quality.Click here to view the article
popcorn_skollie Posted April 6, 2016 Share At today's exchange rate the top model would set you back 24k.That has to be the least amount of fork for the most amount of money to date. Hairy and shaper
