Thermophage Posted April 19, 2016 Share Yep...this is not a marathon bike and putting a 120mm fork on it would hurt its soul...Any re-seller allowing that should have their licence revoked Hairy
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted April 19, 2016 Share Yep...this is not a marathon bike and putting a 120mm fork on it would hurt its soul...Any re-seller allowing that should have their licence revoked Yeah, but that wasn't the Following that he was on. It was a proto version of the Wreckoning. They got it wrong on the article... Just because Evil only "made" the following and insurgent then, they assumed it was the Following. But he's been riding the Wreckoning for a while. http://www.pinkbike.com/news/evil-bikes-the-wreckoning-first-look-core-bike-2016.html http://www.vitalmtb.com/videos/features/Vital-RAW-Luke-Strobel-on-the-Evil-Wreckoning,31125/sspomer,2 http://www.vitalmtb.com/videos/features/Vital-RAW-Luke-Strobel-29er-Destruction-in-the-PNW,28614/sspomer,2 http://dirtmountainbike.com/videos/luke-strobel-on-the-evil-wreckoning.html Edited April 19, 2016 by Myles Mayhew Thermophage and RossW

Thermophage Posted April 19, 2016 Share Nope. Following 120mm. Wreckoning = 160mm 29er. Yea i know the difference, just previously thought he was riding the Following in that vid. Either way...damn impressive some of the other vids of The Following and the ethos behind the design of it Captain Fastbastard Mayhem

Guest Posted April 19, 2016 Share Biggest question I'm left with though is "How does it descend?". Where was it tested and what were your findings? Especially since this is exactly what lead to all this bike's hype - it's basically a DH sled you can take on a long XC ride from what I've read elsewhere. Perhaps this clip sums it up: http://www.vitalmtb.com/videos/features/ONE-LAP-Lars-Sternberg-Luke-Strobel-Xanadu,28310/iceman2058,94Yes, that sums it up perfectly

Doezel Posted April 19, 2016 Share I still have NO REGRETS butchering and selling my Pyga 110 to be able to build this beast. Own it almost a year now and it's still as awesome as the first day I've driven it. NicoBoshoff, Hairy, Capricorn and 6 others

KarlvN Posted April 20, 2016 Share Awesome bike, and I wish I had the moola. One question though, and this is purely from curiosity... the rear shock position being where it is, looks to me like it could potentially be a mud trap? Any comments from those in the know? And if so, how would that affect it's performance and maintenance?
Blinkp Posted April 21, 2016 Share Just for interest sake. Thanks to Craig from Trailtech I had the privilege of riding his 120 mm beast. Let me tell you. I was seriously impressed. Having owned a number of Tallboy's and trying the big S this is up there with the best. It came specced with XX1 and South Industries carbon wheels with a 120mm Sid on the front. This is the only other bike I have ridden other than the Tallboy that when you ride it , it feels like you are sitting in the bike rather than on top. It climbs just as good and decends far better than my skill level. I will kill ( maybe should not say this out loud ) for this bike. This is definitely a contender for an all day, all trail kind of bike and will work perfect for stage races to xc. Do yourselves a favour. Forget the stats and geometries and go ride one. The ride will speak for itself. NicoBoshoff Posted April 21, 2016 Share Punting this as a XC sled is blasphemy. Just saying. Captain Fastbastard Mayhem and Thermophage
