The Giro, my favourite tour of the year is only 2 weeks....

...away and as it appears neither 'Berto, Froome or Quintana are competing I am going to say this will be the year for Valverde to shine.

Astana's wonder boy last year in Mikel Landa has been conspicuous by his absence from the leader board since joining Sky and in my opinion Nibali is pretty much washed up, Aru says he is planning on the TDF and Uran is so hit and miss these days I cant really consider him, so who else....Majka maybe, Pozzovivo, Hesjedal.......I dunno, he field isnt looking great so far.

Chaves and Ewan are the only two names that catch my attention

Although I do hope Cancellara gets to wear pink.

Yip, watch out for Dumoulin

Especially with his time trialling superpowers

He might run out of team support though

Yeah, can't wait! ????????????????

With the other 3 top guys not participating, Nibali will shine but I'm hoping Valverde will out perform him.

Mikel Landa has got his "supplements" timing just right, like he did last year when on Astana.  The way he single handedly chased every break in the Giro del Trentino was nothing short of amazing. Hard to look past him.

If he performs again, like he did last year in the Giro we'll know: His doctor practices in Italy

Yeah, can't wait!

Hmm, dunno, Valverde is in good form and I think he will need to have a couple of really bad days for Dumoulin to be in with a chance of top step.

Movistar is a serious outfit, they dont go to the big tours just to make up the numbers, they will have a plan and Valverde will have some serious support,... anythings possible I guess, but I cant see it.

  Ha, Ha, Yeah, I had a real chuckle at this, I mean honestly, how anyone can take him seriously is just beyond me,.......!

Yeah, I reckon Dumoulin will want to build on his 'surprise status' as a GC contender.

No doubt that Movistar's Valverde and Astana's Nibbles will be the two big guns.

Hoping the Extreme Weather Protocol and some tough spring weather don't cut short many of the mountain finalés

Hmm, Nibali blows so hot and cold its hard to support him, I used to think he was a serious contender but now I just think he got lucky, maybe he will prove me wrong but he hasn't been in tour winning form for years now, and judging by his LBL performance he appears to be sticking to that protocol.

In all honesty I dont think its a great provisional field,... its rumored Fuglsang is sitting on some great form, but he certainly hasn't shown it yet either,.. I dunno, looks like we may be hoping for bad weather just to liven things up a bit. :)

.....aaah for those crazy days of Simoni and Di Luca and company, dropping out of the mist on some lunatic descent, tearing up gravel paths and disappearing into blustering snow storms.............*sigh*.
