porl Posted April 28, 2016 Share Hi All. Been out of racing for a lot of years.Never really enjoyed dirt road type mountain biking and was wondering: What are the most technical (fun) events in the Western Cape? I'm thinking along the lines of the Piket bo berg event? Paul Edited April 28, 2016 by porl

Rock Guy Posted April 28, 2016 Share Apart from the obvious DH / Enduro options, I'm guessing this one will be pretty technical as well:http://www.eselfontein.co.za/festival.htm edit: And at R1500 per team of two riders for 3 days it is an absolute bargain as well. wolver Posted April 28, 2016 Share Piketboberg and Eselfontein would be at the top of my list too.On a side note, it's a pity both of them have inaugural stage races on the same weekend this year.... and the fact that I won't be able to make it to either

Martin Zietsman Posted April 28, 2016 Share If you're looking for the more technical marathon style races, I would also recommend the STBB MTB race in October on the Bottelray Hills trails. A lot of singletrack on that route
Goosebay Posted May 9, 2016 Share OK it is my turf - but If you want to have one of the real rides in the mountains come and try the Funky Fynbos funride. Those that have done it will tell you that it is one of the toughest rides out there. Not only in terms of climbs - but the terrain as well. Fast and narrow descents as well as some fun single track. Not manicured - but built to retain true mountain flavour. A real test to your ability to ride a bike in the mountains .
