madbradd Posted July 20, 2016 Share they are quick and easy to deal with alsoI try to support LBS but sometimes ...... just remember your VAT and customsYeah, but if you take it to your LBS and pay them decent money to install it, you're still in for alot less! so at that price you're looking at R16.5k including taxes, add some shipping, and pay your bike shop a few grand to install... hell even if you pay them R5k you still save about R7.5k on the original price Edited July 20, 2016 by madbradd

madbradd Posted July 20, 2016 Share shipping is free it is a great deal who said surfing bike porn is bad for you Nice. more for you and your LBS. I really believe that supporting an LBS is the way to go. But when something is literally half the price online, it's a huge difference. I bought a set of XT brakes online and installed them. I'd been chatting to my LBS for ages about getting them, but had the wrong spacer for the new rotor (anthem had a 170mm front not a 180mm) so went in for one of those. Long story short, they ended up buying a few sets from the site I got mine from because they were WELL below the price they could get from CoolHeat. So you just know that someone is taking the piss, and both the LBS and the consumer suffer. bikebloke and T-Bob

There even bigger issues in the US where the US distributor can buy stock from European retail shops cheaper than they can get it directly from Shimano Int. OP shimano don't do groupset pricing so each individual part is priced separately thus there is no discount for buying the whole groupset.I have just had a look at a price list and 30K is a fair price (you not being ripped off by your LBS) Drop me a PM if you want more details. I have just had my Di2 11spd Shifters, Derailleurs, Cassette and Chain replaced for 16k.Crankset & BB, Calipers and wires don't cost 14k. It's the damn wires, junction boxes, battery and charger that cost so much, at RRP ±8550.00 Veebee
Spoke101 Posted July 20, 2016 Share Oh forgot to add that Wiggle price is massively cheaper that what Coolheat sell it for.
Veebee Posted July 20, 2016 Share Thanks for the feedback gents. Going to make a call on this next week. Spoke, I have priced the parts individually and you spot on, the wires and junction boxes make up most of the cost.
