Schmorglebot Posted August 19, 2016 Share http://www.tririg.com/articles/2013_05_Skewer_Shootout/650/2013_05_Skewer_Shootout_2.jpg Hey guys, Anyone have any experience with bolt on skewers for road bike? They make sense from a security perspective and I always have my allen keys with me when i ride so it's not like the would leave me stranded or anything. I'm assuming that when you forgo the whole QR lever you save a bit of weight as well. Not one to advocate weight saving over safety, anyone have any opinions? eddy Posted August 19, 2016 Share I saw a set once and it had a hollow allen key because the hole has a little pin in it to prevent a normal allen key from fitting. Worked quite well johannrissik

Guest notmyname Posted August 19, 2016 Share I got these for this bike. If memory serves they set me back a mere 280 rond. I've done plenty km's with them with no issues. Just made sure I tourqed them in line with what I read during some research into the task. *they not fancy schmantz. Worked quite wellI have some of those. Going onto a Mercer tandem to discourage unauthorised removal of front or rear wheel. PS Just don't lose that Allen key......
