Nibali Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Mmm.. I may join you at team Zakarin. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk Gen, just quickly help me out here. You say Nibbles has a bad reputation because of being at Astana, despite never being caught, but you support a guy who was banned for doping?
carbon29er Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Gen, just quickly help me out here. You say Nibbles has a bad reputation because of being at Astana, despite never being caught, but you support a guy who was banned for doping? Just in: But the pros are not doing it. You need to detach enjoying watching classy bike races with thinking they are clean. My favourite bike rider ever is The Kaiser. Never tested positive but doped with the best of them. Doesn't detract from how he rode. It's the denialists that want to see proof that are the problem in cycling.
coppi Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Anyone know if they showing the team presentation this evening?
Cav' Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Remember this, If we have a boring Giro at least then we'll have an exciting Tour to look forward to.History has shown that you can't have both unfortunately. The Giro will see Quintana sitting pretty with about 4-5 other riders who can all climb really well, BUT then he'll make ONE and I repeat ONE big attack on a summit finish and take 2 mins on the plebs. - Giro Summed up. Now here's to hoping Zakarin, Nibali or Thomas can pull a Contador, and ride like there's no tomorrow.
Cav' Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Go Nibbles! http://www.cyclingweekly.com/news/product-news/328414-328414 Actually surprisingly beautiful.You can't polish a turd I'm afraid.

All sans medicine, of course. Tommy D is looking very very lean too. I'm looking forward to the Nairo one day long attack. And then his wheelsucking until he repeats at le Tour where he needs to be ready for the early mountain Froome attack.
carbon29er Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Im with you there. Will just need to check with Gen first, to make sure Im not making a noob mistake.Any feedback on this Gen? As the matriarch of the racing on the hub gruppetto you have the final say.

So for the sake of discussion, if we exclude doping as the transformation media, are there any plausible means by which such transformations can be made?
Thor Buttox Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Thor's 2 hopes for the Giro:1) Tommy D does really well2) Nairo the Dull has an incident in an early crosswind and ends up 10mins behind.
Shebeen Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 podcast preview to appetize http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/recon-ride-giro-ditalia-podcast/listened to this on the commute this morning. To briefly summarise their thoughts on GC:Quintana and Nibbles stand ahead of the pack. Quintana because he's got the pedigree, has improved his TT and has got a very decent GC backing team. Where he falls back is that he's going for the Giro/Tour double so could be holding back a bit. Nibbles doesn't have the Astana type train, but is defending champ and is focussing on this alone, his home race. Plenty of others in with a shout, notably Kruiswijk and Mollema who both looked decent at Giro and Tour last year repsectively before coming short in the final week. Outside stealth pics - someone from Astana who now has a fee rein to do stuff (ie. Kangert)
Nibali Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Just in:PS1218.jpg But the pros are not doing it. You need to detach enjoying watching classy bike races with thinking they are clean. My favourite bike rider ever is The Kaiser. Never tested positive but doped with the best of them. Doesn't detract from how he rode. It's the denialists that want to see proof that are the problem in cycling. My question was more aimed at not supporting a rider with 1 of the reasons being the possibility of him doping vs supporting a rider who was literally caught for doping. Nothing more, nothing less. Once again not going into speculative arguments, even if that makes me the so-called problem in cycling.
