That came down to tyre pressure ...

Wow.!

Ah, now the TV images make more sense.

Those Tan Sidewall sections on Wout's bike had made it look like Pidcock had pipped him comfortably in the side-on finish line video footage.

Now he can grab a beer and relax before preparing for his assault on the green Jersey in July....?

How long before some start-up company makes a bobble head of Schachmann??? It will sell millions....

Yoh Voss the Boss almost lost that with here JA celebration. But she can thank her ex team mate Ashleigh for that win. Asleigh pulled hard from 2km to go to pull those 2 back in.

Wout and Tom are getting good at timing their breaks so they can mess around with a few km to go. I still don't know how they decided who won that but one heck of a sprint. Exciting racing.

Michael Mathews always has some stupid comment to make after races. He said he was surprised at how easy this course was compared to the old route. Like WTF oke?????

Beer? hahaha

I think he has said that he is a super dom for Primoz and will not be making any attempt at any jersey this year.

The green jersey will have to wait, according to a number of interviews.

Whether that is a bluff, who knows, but the yellow train will need to work super hard to get the GC win and he is an integral part of that.

My question is this.

Why are these 3 CX guys SO good? Is there a lack of depth in the road peleton that these 3 CX guys who have now raced nearly 2 full seasons already in 2021 are still able to compete week in week out against 'road specialists' who have raced half a season?

Is CX actually a place to learn your skills, get strong and be better and did the women actually set the trend years ago in doing this with Vos and PFP?

Forget about the green jersey, you’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t win it.

He’s there to support Roglic for the maillot jaune. Period.

I'd guess that is doing it backwards.

I know Stybar was 2 x world CX champ too. I just question what these guys do right or others do wrong or what they do differently that makes them able to win win win or at least compete ALL the time.

Maybe you should ask Valverde, he's been able to compete/peak for the last 100 years.

I like these CX guys because all their races they're not afraid to do work right at the front.

JA got caught a couple bikes back when the front guys gapped near the end. He couldn't find a friend to sit behind and therefore couldn't bridge the gap.

These kids are brute strong.

So, turns out the on the line camera was not on the line. So Tom crossed the finish line first but Wout crossed the photo finish line first. The background on the line is red, in the photo finish its yellow. Bit of an oopsie.

True

I think JV are still scarred by Pogacar stealing it at the death. They will not leave anything to chance. I doubt WvA will even be allowed to go for a stage at any point during the Tour.

But, plan B might need to be the green jersey. You never know, maybe Roglic slips on a banana skin and "poof", all is gone.

I think Jumbo Visma actually had a good return at TDF 2020 with multiple stage wins and plenty of days in Yellow. I think they should take the good TV coverage whenever it comes.

Maybe WvA in Green for a couple of days is worth the risk.

I wonder about this, especially since the time margin of the win is something like 4/10000 of a second, or something like that.
