Taking your bike to the mechanic at your LBS, 'cos every time it's there for a check-up, something is broken  :wacko:

 

Too much lube. Mud/sand is bad for your drivetrain, but as long as you wash it off as soon as you can, you shouldn't have to actively avoid it. MTB'ing is an outdoor sport after all...

GXP BB. In less than a week it goes stale. Like milk. Most annoying if you have to ride 170km with it.
