Saddle Recover

I've had a search, without satisfactory results.

Does anyone know a specialist or has had experience of recovering a saddle?

I have a Prologo Scratch Pro which is incredibly comfortable, but now looks pretty scabby. I have tried a bunch of different perches but nothing comes close to the invisibility of the Prologo; i.e. when I ride I don't notice it's there.

I'd like to get someone to tidy it up. Furniture/car upholsterers were mentioned in the search, but I was wondering if anyone could recommend someone in the Cape Town area.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

I used a guy in Woodstock.. Velo   (Velobrain??)something or other.  He did several saddles for me.

Good job but quite expensive R700.00 ea.

You get what you pay for I guess.

Good luck.

Thanks, a new saddle would cost me in that region plus the possible break in period so it's a good option.

Cheers.

I am not sure as to what type of material you wish to have it covered with, at some point in time there was a saddle restoration thread (was in the time of all the SS bikes and restoration projects).

A simple youtube search should put you on your way in terms of a DIY job. I covered a Selle Italia slr carbon in Denim, very easy indeed!! Some contact adhesive and a bit of patience did the trick.

I'll have a look, I'd like it done in leather if possible or as close to the original cover material as possible.
