WillemFolscher Posted March 8, 2017 Share Hey Is there perhaps anyone that know of someone who does saddle restoration? I got a nasty tear in mine and was wondering if it would work out cheaper to have it re-covered or get a new one? In any area around Blouberg or Bellville if possible Any advice will help - thank you
shaper Posted March 9, 2017 Share Which saddle you have? Will probably be cheaper to replace. Dullscalpel

shaper Posted March 9, 2017 Share Scott use Syncros OEM parts I think? have a look in the classifieds https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/238111-syncros-saddle/ Else take your saddle to your LBS and ask if they can source same make and model
Marsh00 Posted March 9, 2017 Share I also have a couple of saddles just laying around with scuff marks and small slids... seems a shame to be throwing them away. (Prologo Kappa 2, Q-BIK etc) Edited March 9, 2017 by Marsh00
Sepia Posted March 9, 2017 Share There is a very good saddle re-upholsterer in your neck of the woods. But for your saddle, just buy a new one as this guy only starts at R700.00 per saddle.

Sepia Posted March 9, 2017 Share Who does this, out of interest?Velobrian, Salt River. They have done three of my Rolls saddles. Excellent job.I certainly can recommend them but not the price.
Brakepad Posted April 11, 2017 Share I also had a saddle redone for a show bike (fake snake skin)went to a guy who normally makes leather and latex clothes he had the right materials, tools and glue. biggest issue was the foam padding , finding right density and thickness as the old one was glued on and broke when removed.I remember being charged about 250 Rand but it's 20 years ago...
