I bought a carbon bike with SRAM and twist grips as opposed to the normal shimano shifters. Are the Twist grip shifters cool or uncool?

If you like them they are cool, if you do not like them they are not cool. Simple as that.

the word you are thinking of is grip-shifts

some guys take off their trigger shifters and fit grip-shifts because they prefer them

who cares who thinks whats cool just ride your bike :)

Jeepers everyone is being so pc and logical today.

Why are grip shifts cool if you like them but bar ends or saddle bags are always uncool?

I am just sore cos I have bar ends and a saddle bag.....

A tool roll is apparently "cool". There's no hope for bar ends, though.

But I ride with gripshift, so what do I know about cool, eh.

Grip shifters are very cool, and I'll tell you why.

1. Cleans up the bar.

2. Easy to service and repair.

3. If you use a FD the grip shifter has the in between adjustments.

Saddle Bag is also cool because what other people think of me is none of my business!

Bar ends might be cool but they are dangerous, ask me, I know, no stopper on the end of mine, off to hospital for sewing.

Caring about what is "cool" is not cool. I break most of the rules every time I get on my road bike:

MTB cleats and shoes... check

Camelback... check

Helmet with visor... check

Ankle socks... check

Saddlebag... check

Pump mounted on frame... check

Bidons > 610ml... check

Bar tape matched to bike... nope

HTFU... usually not  :whistling:
