You training on road bike, or MTB on the road???

Maybe this year Ill try do it with the MTB hooked up to a Kickr.

Nothing wrong with that. Enjoy the training.

With those kind of distances, its the best approach...... no need for technical riding if you not racing technical events....

You should definitely use a more comfortable set up this year!

Not familiar with the route, difficult grading on a scale from 1-10?

It difficult to say. If you had to do the route in smaller bits, its really not bad, but obviously the distance makes a difference. Its doable on a CX bike.

I'd say perhaps a 5-6/10

There are sections near Alma that are either like a beach or with deep corrugations that will test your suspension and patience. Pack Cataflam. Love riding there, hate riding there if that makes sense.

The road surface there depends a lot on recent rainfall... It should still be relatively dry then...

Riding with cataflam especially on such a long ride is just being silly...

Just a question regarding checkpoints/support vehicles.

Is it compulsory to have support vehicle?

If yes, can riders share a support vehicle?

If no, is it possible to send gear to checkpoints with race organiser?

The riders should have support vehicles, with which they will have contact at the end of each stage, and therefore do not have a box system as with some other races.  We can however make a plan and have boxes dropped at specific checkpoints.

Regards

I have had similar questions see above.

These type of events are definitely getting more popular in SA. Kudo's to the organisers. We did the Cullinan2Tonteldoos a few months ago and was a great race. Quite like the relay format of this one....tempted!

Hi JC

We will not have a box drop-off like with some other events, and it is therefore advisable for riders to have support vehicles.

You are welcome to share support vehicles, and unlike events like C2T, support drivers do not need to check in etc.
