I have always enjoyed the Hub, and the variety of interests and the various thread topics is something to be admired.

HOWEVER, the way the guys/gals come together to work towards a outcome is worthy of praise!! Without trying to cut out the angelic work done from time to time, of which the newest thread is run by 2Bliss (https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/169450-please-help-a-preemie/page-6?hl=pre&do=findComment&comment=3180134), here's a breakdown of the fund raisers riding the 94.7.

*Disclaimer, by no means is this a closed list. But merely the ones I found on a quick search. Please add as you come across them.

PS. Personally I am riding for the Bulldog Rescue Angels

How would this work for other races? Lets say a MTB stage race? How do the funds get to the charity and where do they come from?

It depends on the specific organisation and how their setup works. With the Bulldog Angels the riders pay R1000.00 to ride with them, this includes a jersey etc which I assume is sponsored. So their income is generated from the riders themselves. They also have various other ways of how direct transfers can be made.

If one would do this for all races I would suggest having the organisation's bank details on hand when sourcing funding. This eliminates all third party money moving through your account, removing any and all admin issues as well as not upsetting SARS.

Last year I did not have a charity to ride for before the expo  but I still bought a SPCA yersey at the expo with a donation and proudly rode in theirs.

It just did not feel right rocking up on the day and not riding for a charity - in this race your charity kit is the coolest you can look.
