Gen Posted September 16, 2018 Share I dont know..I dont get Movistar tactics...or if they have any control over what the riders do.Was not able to watch stage but I get the feeling from your comments thst Nairo was pushing the pace early on in the stage..yet Valverde stating that he was feeling really bad all day. Then Nairo attack and proceed to collaborate with a podium rival?? Second day in a row that his attack ended up putting Valverde on the back foot..surely if they wanted to protect the podium they should have approached it differently..Valverde knew he was not strong enough to take Yates..thats clear so why not try and save the podium.Think the plan was to put MS under pressure (first attack). Then go up the road for later or stage win.. When he was with Lopez toward the end he sat up and the call must have come to go for the stage win..could've worked had it not been for Yates attacking..that put Valverde and SK in difficulty, Nairo sat on the group with Lopez, Mas and Yates did not take a turn, when news came that Valverde was now alone and in difficulty he sat up and waited.. Oxter Posted September 16, 2018 Share Well we’ve had quit the year in GT’s. 3 different winners and two first timers. We’ve seen main gc contenders working for their work horsmen. The flood gates opened in the vuelta for the breakaway guys....SK had a 5th and 4th in consecutive gt’s and hopefully its a promise for good things to come for him next year. Lotto jumbo grew on me this year with their performance in le tour. There was no dump on a lawn. Gen, Vetplant and Bonus

Eldron Posted September 16, 2018 Share All in all an interesting GT. New faces on the podium, Sagan empty handed, Sky not featuring... The only thing normal was the Wolfpack Raiding Party kicking arse. Again. Edit: DData Winning stages! Unexpected and awesome!
