zeepee Posted April 9, 2018 Share I was behind you until the Spaz comment. Not cool dude! Based on your comments I suspect you own high end electronic equipment and clothing items - if you do then question your own ethics. "Buddy".Haha, yeesh a bit sensitive are we? If you knew anything about the cycling industry you’d know where my comment stems from. No need for your snarky comment Rata-tat-tat
Patchelicious Posted April 9, 2018 Share Change your business model and be a normal retail outlet. If your service and reputation is good they will come to you.I know someone who has done exactly that.Doesn't all have to be about one brand.I agree that there are ways of changing your income models. But that’s not what you said, you said they could easily have picked up another brand and carried on, I disagree to some extent with that. zeepee Posted April 9, 2018 Share That letter clears things up somewhat. Reading between the lines, Yeti see a model such as Specialized, with a national footprint and huge brand growth in SA (which Yeti seem to have missed somewhat), and decide they want a slice of the action. Current distributors can't support that model/meet targets, so Yeti find someone who (promises they) can. Look I obviously don’t have all the details but from what I know Yeti couldn’t even keep supply up with the current orders from Cyclic, so not sure if targets was as issue? Plentipotential Posted April 9, 2018 Share Some of you just cannot help yourselves can you! This is a thread about Yeti. WTF are you bringing Specialized into it? Did your brand bash in that specific thread not get you enough attention? Idiots. Seriously. Patchelicious
Skubarra Posted April 9, 2018 Share But Spez have a history of bullying smaller businesses / peeps remember the 'Roubaix' shop incident which the CEO was forced to make public apology for their attack dog tactic. Conveniently about the time that Fuji decided to mull over publicly their thoughts on the licensing of the Roubaix name that they own and let Spez use. There have been a few incidents like that from that company so it's not that much of unfounded comment. I was never convinced that Spez was in the wrong on that one - and I'm the last person on here who would say something nice about Spez.... Thought the shop in question gave a masterful performance in the "role" of the poor ignorant underdog.. But we digress.. Yo-Yo

NSQUAREDZA Posted April 9, 2018 Share Hi all Yeti fans and customers. We (NSquared Distribution) have just been appointed the SA Agents this last week, and we plan to launch this news on Wednesday the 11th April with pics of the new XC dual sus model. (not currently on the website)We have been appointed, as Yeti want nation wide distribution and we were recommended by another one of our Brands Vittoria. We were informed that the Cyclic contract ended a couple weeks before the Cape Epic, and things moved quite swiftly from there for us........ We currently have x30 of these new bikes on the way to us, and they were all pre-sold in a matter of seconds. Please feel free to contact either ourselves ( t:021 709 0522 | e:info@nsquared.co.za | w: www.nsquared.co.za)or the following dealers with warranty or sales enquiries: Bicycle Service CompanySprocket and JackThe Gear ChangeJohn o Connor CyclesCallans Bike Tech We have already addressed and remedied warranty claims with previous Yeti Retailers. We have been working with Colin directly in order to take over his current warranties, and they are being dealt with, as replacement stock arrives this week. We did ask Colin to be one of our retailers, however he decided to close shop and pursue his Touring Company. We would like to thank him for the great job that he did with the Brand and wish him and Jared all the best with their new venture. Please keep an eye on our social media pages as we will be posting this model on 11 April! Harryn Posted April 9, 2018 Share Just as long as Mr Z knows that Yeti might just do it again and drop them for Mr Q who promises to double sales again.Yeah, but if Mr Z is careful and prudent, he will negotiate a fixed term agreement entrenching sole distribution rights, and he will build in renewal options that he can exercise so long as he is playing ball, growing the brand and does not fall into breach himself. And if Mr Z does not do these things, he can blame his own ineptitude when Mr Q steps into his shoes. And nobody ever has a god given right to an ever-green contract. All good (and bad) things come to an end. The trick is to preserve what you have, while you can. The Opening Post is emotive, abusively one sided, and, to my mind, defamatory of the Yeti brand. No thanks, I think I'll rather switch brands. I hope you dont get a 3 line email one day saying thanks and goodbuy Dear Sir Sorry to feel this way. We only got involved after Cyclic's contract was terminated due to them not fulfilling there written and agreed upon obligation. I too have obligations, and if I do not deliver, then I too face the bullet. We really wanted Colin to continue with the Brand, hence we reached out, however he decided to close the store and continue his flourishing and growing touring company. zeepee Posted April 9, 2018 Share The Opening Post is emotive, abusively one sided, and, to my mind, defamatory of the Yeti brand.I'll take the criticism of being emotive and one sided on the chin. Defamatory defiantly not, I know enough to know that there was a definite lack of ethics involved here and I know that I as a customer like to make buying decisions based on that.
