WeekendWarrior80 Posted May 9, 2018 Share For the price of the Scott, I would rather get a Trek Top Fuel 9.7 I see there's a sale on the Trek Fuel EX 9.7https://www.trekbikes.com/za/en_ZA/bikes/mountain-bikes/trail-mountain-bikes/fuel-ex/fuel-ex-9-7-29/p/21544/?colorCode=black_red
Rudi Pollard Posted May 9, 2018 Share Go and ride both and spend your money on the one you enjoy the most. The sticker on the side makes no difference if the geometry does not work with your riding style... For the kind of money you are willing to spend you will definitely not buy a crap bicycle! DCJ Posted May 9, 2018 Share Hi, In the market for a new bike. Which would you buy and why? Specialized Comp Carbon or the Scott RC900 team ?Will this be a purely XC race bike? What kinds of riding do you do?
MitchConway Posted May 9, 2018 Share Scott for sure.
MarcL Posted May 9, 2018 Share Scott will be lighter and better value for money... For sure I'm biased as our family only own Scott, but have done plenty of research before going this way. But remember, service from you LBS should be a major consideration too. Happy shopping....
keithbe Posted May 10, 2018 Share Two great brands from a group of at least 15 other great brands. You're on the right track. Enjoy the new wheels!
Traveler Posted May 10, 2018 Share Two great brands. You do not need to maintain a Brain on the Scott, that for me is a major benefit.
Ascension Posted May 10, 2018 Share If I had to choose between these 2 bikes I would go for the Scott. It is slightly better value and cheaper maintenance. I think the Scott is perfect in terms of geometry. If I could choose any bike it would be the Silverback Sesta because it is much better value/more bike for your bucks. Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted May 10, 2018 Share Hi, In the market for a new bike. Which would you buy and why? Specialized Comp Carbon or the Scott RC900 team ?What are you aiming to do with them? Race competitively, or just ride your normal trails and have a do it all bike? If the former, both the NEW Epic (with the better geo) and the RC are fantastic bikes, and the choice would be up to how you feel about each. If the latter, rather go for the non-RC Spark, or the Camber / Stumpy ST. Far more suited to anyone who isn't racing for position.
