unishaun Posted May 16, 2018 Share So Monday the 28th May, it will begin riding from Plett to Stellies along the Cross Cape Cycle Route on my fully kitted and loaded unicycle. I am going solo, and cause the distances between the town's are a bit of a push on one wheel, I will be camping out on route some nights. Here is a pick of my Kris Holm's 29er with home made, custom built carry racks with bags. If you'd like, following me on fb or Instagram, @gonehikingcapetownOr for those of you on Komoot, Unishaun. Shebeen Posted May 16, 2018 Share RAD! I helped these guys with some of the route info when they did it. https://counterbalance.co.za/2010/12/05/three-unicyclists-and-a-blogger-informal-interviews-in-masakala/#more-1259 Then rode with them for a day near the end. I failed to grasp the point of unicycle touring, but good luck anyway.
unishaun Posted May 16, 2018 Share Cheers guys. The plan is to do between 50-60km day, some days more, some less. I dont need to rush it, so the idea is to take it as it comes Sepia

unishaun Posted May 29, 2018 Share Day 1 and 2 of my Cross Cape Cycle Route done and dusted. Did about 50km yesterday (28/05), camped over in the beautiful indigenous forests above Knysna. Today did around 20km, staying over in Knysna tonight to let me kit dry after being rained on last night, and my butt can recover for tomorrow's push towards George. Was a tough start, but slowly getting into it. Some amazing roads, views and people seen along the way.Found a wallet and a can of beer late yesterday afternoon, I will try and track down the owner, but I drank his beer already, I recon I deserve it:) Sent from my A8 using Tapatalk i24, hboli4, dirtypot and 10 others
unishaun Posted May 31, 2018 Share Day 3 and 4 are now done, started in Knysna yesterday and rode via the Phantom pass road and to the Seven passes road. Some wonderful places and roads. Alton (a guy I met on the road) snapped a pic of me and posted it on the Cycle Knysna fb page and it just exploded with a bunch of comments and support. I also meet some friendly cyclists at the top of Phantom pass, and had a long chat to them before parting ways after a few pics. Stopped at the garden route trail park for lunch and a break, before continuing to Toorbos cabins for a goods nighrs rest (with electric blankets). Then this morning I started early and rode the last 25 km to George, where I got a free lunch from the owner of the shell in town (Rob), and the LBS owner who is also a Rob is putting me up for the night. Thanks Rob's! Must be a Rob thing;) Sent from my A8 using Tapatalk Dogs, semisub, Kalahari Vegmot and 3 others
