flymango Posted May 21, 2018 Share I have a Polar RS800CX and heart rate sensor which isn't Bluetooth enabled. I want to purchase the H7 Heart Rate Sensor which is Bluetooth enabled. Can the RS800CX be "taught" to read the H7 Sensor in the "old fashioned" way, i.e. not using Bluetooth? My objectives are as follows:still have access to RS800CX info on my wrist while exercising (e.g. HR, distance, etc.)link H7 to my smart device via Bluetooth using Polar Beat/Flow capture exercise data for Vitality benefits Can this be done? Yes, I have been living under a rock! Thanks

Yes, I have been living under a rock! Thanks I just tried the new polar H7 and H10 with my old RS800 running watch and it did not pick up HR using the H7 or H10. In fact it did not pick up HR from any of my straps (Old Garmin, Old Power Tap, old cycleops strap). Unfortunately i do not have an old polar non blue tooth strap to double check the HR function still works (the watch has been in a box on the shelf for years). Time to upgrade.... flymango
LongDonkey Posted May 21, 2018 Share Same problem. 100% operational RS800. But upgraded to a Garmin instead.Bryton rider now also sitting in the box of retired tech. flymango
flymango Posted May 23, 2018 Share I wonder how many "free smoothies" or "discounted flights" I need to bank to justify spending ZAR 5-10k on new "smart" hardware? At least I can become a Strava junkie!
Leonard Posted June 3, 2018 Share The RS800 is only compatible with the Wind sensors and the coded HRM strap. If you want bluetooth you will need to change to a Bluetooth Smart Polar devise. One thing I am very pissed about is that they have not incorporated ANT+ on their watches and computers. This limits yoir possibilities. In the market for a new computer and have to change to Bryton, Giant, Cat eye stealth EVO plus. Edited June 4, 2018 by CCD flymango
