Gideondv Posted September 17, 2018 Share Hi guys, Heading to Mcgregor for the long weekend with friends. Mtb is coming with. There are loads of strava segments & routes due to Cape Epic stage 1 + 2 being there & offcourse ride2nowhere race. My question is, are these routes open to ride? Obviously close any gate that might be closed but I don't want to upset any landowners. Any suggestions / advise would be appreciated .
dirtypot Posted September 17, 2018 Share A lot of the race routes go over farms, so you can't just go riding around there as you please. I've found some really good routes out there though that don't go over farms, and where they do I've had a chat to the farmer which has always worked out well and I've gotten directions and even had them phoning the farmers next door to let them know I was coming through. There's a lot of riding to be had out there though. A ride up to the mast is also good training.

dirtypot Posted September 17, 2018 Share https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/news/mtb/sa-mtb/the-klipberg-enduro-pack-your-dingleberrys-r7470 I missed this completely! Thanks!I learnt a lot of my routes from seeing where Craig went on Strava. His 'in-laws' were just down the road from where my folks lived. Those pics make me want to go ride there again. Gideondv Posted September 18, 2018 Share Im thinking of trying to do this route but split it over 2 days https://www.strava.com/segments/16631091 . Any idea if its on private land but mtb friendly?
Boerklong Posted September 18, 2018 Share If I look at that map, some of that looks like private property.
