Hope she gets well soon. Sounds like she took quite a body-blow.

The Kingfisher /Rondebult junction is a pretty "open" traffic light junction as far as I can remember. Used to use that road to get from work in Wadeville to customers.

Glad she is still with us! Hope she heels up soon!

How on earth did the taxi hit here there, on the drivers side??

Exactly what I was thinking, however the accident did happen at an intersection so perhaps she was in a right hand lane turning? Taxi could also have been driving on the pavement?

Cycling in the dark? Not that she should not have been but it all adds to the risks of cycling on the roads in a city, especially in this country.

Either way looks like she took quite a bang, all the best to her, hope she makes a speedy recovery.

Risk?

People see lights better than they see cyclist.

I cycle in the dark every day for the past 18 years living in the city.

It is MUCH safer than doing your training in day time.

And being a pro and a mother it is probably the only time she has to enjoy her sport.

But let's not go there.

Hope she recovers fully.

Horrible news.

Get well Lynette!!

Sjoe thats bad...strongs and speedy recovery

I was taken out by a student driver on Sunday morning in Dorp Street, Stellenbosch and this just once again made me think of how lucky I was to walk away with no serious injuries and no damage to the bike  .
