CAAD 12 SUB 7.0 kg Project 

 

Aim to build a sub 7 kg disk bike without selling any body parts for funding…

Really nice build and detail, what I really like is that comfort and practicality hasn't been compromised for weight and you still have a lightweight rocket. I'm busy doing a sub 8 Hardtail that has to be comfortable and completely practical.

What did she cost all in?

Not 100% Sure but kept it "budget" as mentioned by 'Dale Etap would've been awesome but costs double over this grouppo. The wheels were a steal because of AMClassic closing down.

Really nice build and detail, what I really like is that comfort and practicality hasn't been compromised for weight and you still have a lightweight rocket. I'm busy doing a sub 8 Hardtail that has to be comfortable and completely practical.

Totally doable for a hardtail, I think a Scalpel sub 10 kg project is next for me :)

Since my brother was looking at an entry level carbon frame and I pointed him to a Caad10 instead, I have become convinced that the top end AL frames from Cannondale, Spez, Trek, etc. are not only better value, but are also better bikes at the same price point.

 

So, well done on starting with the right frame !

 

However, what does the bike weigh on the frame as it looks from your component list that you don't have weights for the brakes: disks, hoses or calipers ?
