partydave Posted October 29, 2018 Share Morning guys. Was at Dischem over the weekend to pick up some Epic Pro, but the price is a bit steep for me. Looked at all the supps and was overwhelmed with all the choices. Are there any good alternatives to Epic Pro (Intra + Recovery) that isn't damn near R600 a tub. I looked at a couple of options from Biogen and 32GI, but none of them contained protein as with Epic. Hammer Perpetuem did contain protein and had a few other similarities to Epic Pro, but I remember having one of the single samplers and I can't say that it really worked that well for me. This could be to the massive altitude difference during that ride though. I've also had 32GI and this was okay, but I've heard Epic Pro to be better. The Biogen series is just a hot mess of a zillion products. Cyrogen, Carbogen, Snakeoilgen and so much more; I've got no idea what to look for. I did pick up Carbogen because it was on special and had it before and during a ride. I must admit that my legs felt great during that ride, but I'm not convinced it will work through an ultra endurance ride. Obviously in-ride nutrition is important and I stick to the tried and tested peanut butter, banana and jam sarmies. Cadence was developed by Jeroen Swart and the guys from Science2Sport. Also roughly the same ingredients as High5. Skinnyone Posted October 29, 2018 Share There is a new product that I have been trying called PTS (Performance Through Science) they offer a full range and I can honestly say it is the best stuff I have used ever! - Been riding for 20+ years so I've tried a lot of stuff...
