JaQ Posted October 30, 2018 Share Greeting, I need knowledge in regards if the following components will be compatible with my Giant Stance 2 27.5 2015. https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/shimano-slx-m7000-1x11-drivetrain-groupset/rp-prod148625 The link above is the groupset I am looking at. My bike has an FSA bottom bracket bb-cfm92 24mm Alivio derailleur 3x9. So the question is will my current bottom bracket be compatible or do I need to get the following bottom bracket that the link states are compatible; BB-MT800/BB-MT800-PA? Thank you in advance. fanievb Posted October 30, 2018 Share have you looked at getting 1x12?not dissing the shimano but you can get a SRAM groupset, with LOCAL support for RR5800. https://bike-addict.co.za/products/sram-nx-eagle-groupset?variant=12663861739604 I'm sure you can get a better price somewhere.or just get the upgrade kit, keep your current crank and fit a single chainring. https://bike-addict.co.za/collections/groupset/products/sram-nx-eagle-upgrade-kit it will be a moerse ugrade from the 3x9

JaQ Posted October 30, 2018 Share If I go the SRAM route which personally I like more. Will I not need to replace the fee hub on the rear as a heared that it does not fit nicely the SRAM cassette on a shimano hub?
Schnavel Posted October 30, 2018 Share NX uses the same freebody as shimano. Only GX upwards requires the XD driver. Steven Knoetze (sk27)

Just wondering if the cassette will fit? yes as long as your casette is 11t, you wouldn't need an XD driver and can keep your current freewheel body

Besides why bother with 11spd if you are spending the cash to upgrade? fanievb

JaQ Posted October 30, 2018 Share I intially wanted 2x10. Then I spoke to a cycle tech and mentioned to me that the style of riding that I currentlly do a 1x system will also do the trick. I saw this now at cwc which is not bad; https://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/sram-nx-eagle-upgrade-kit-1x12
