Are you looking to order from overseas; because Sram doesn't allow overseas retailers to sell to South Africa anymore. You can go on CRC or the like with a VPN to see prices if you want.

Or you can just switch the buying options on the CRC site to 'UK' and 'pounds' and you don't need a VPN. CRC, Tredz etc are doing some great pre-black Friday deals at the moment but do you hold ot for the main event or dive in now and ship with a mate or Aramex? Stick or twist.  ;)

Buying Sram from CRC - did it last month.

Log in with your account.  Switch the country to UK and currency to GBP

(this is done so that you can actually view the product)

Then ad the Sram product to your wish list.

Now, change everything back (RSA and ZAR)

Go to wish list.  Use the function - add to cart from wish list.

Go to cart, you will see the item is ready for check out and even VAT removed.

Check out.

Wait for Skynet.......

just a quick q - why the ultimates and not the RSC's? As far as I know, the only difference over the RSC is the carbon lever and titanium bolts, for which you pay an enormous amount.

Locally, Bike Addict, summit bikes & evo are your best bet.

Bike Addict is the same cost as CRC on the RSC's once you've added VAT & shipping, and you don't have to wait for Skynet

On the Ultimates, they're more expensive locally by R 1,200.

CPTmayhem, help me out here.

From your link the SRAM Guide Ultimates are R8,240 from Bike Addict

Now from CRC they are GBP184. Take off their 20% Vat = GBP153.33. Now add to this our 10% Upliftment and 15% VAT you get to GBP194. Convert at 19 to the rand plus 3% Visa conversion fee = R3,800.  Add Skynet R200 clearing fee = R4,000.

So is it just me, but can you get 2 brakes for the price of one going CRC. OR what am I missing?

(Assumed free shipping as 2 brakes will qualify for this from CRC)

That's per side. There is a special on the 2017 ones for 99.99 each, but the improved ones (different piston design) is 153.99-183.99 per side.

Bought sram etap shifters and brakes for my road bike last month from overseas.Local agent didn’t have stock which is kind of ironic since they trying to block overseas purchases.

Had it shipped to my local overseas address then shipped to SA( yes I had to pay double vat)

Got it in a week and was 15% cheaper than any SA online shop or lbs
