I've got Maxxis Larsen, which roll quite well and my spare is a Maxxis Ranchero which rolls even better, but neither of them are really good when it comes to the sticky, gloopy snot we have around JHB (shhhhh!! the name police haven't found us yet). Cois Posted October 21, 2006 Share I forgot to post this and I don't know if it will help, but if it is wet and muddy try and use Spray and Cook on the tyres. dirtrider Posted October 24, 2006 Share Spray and Cook on your tyres ?? Ok if you are unable to get your hands on S&C then try a Kenda Karma for size . In mud you want 1.95 or smaller . More clearance around shocks/frame and it does not pick up the mud like a 2.0+ would do . And before you ask , you can go around corner sideways with them if it is very nice and slimy . dirtrider Posted October 24, 2006 Share that as well . The Karma worked very well for me last year (remember the mub EVERYWHERE) when thing got a bit slippery . steve Posted October 24, 2006 Share Hey Dirt Rider, I also have this theory of thin tyres being better in mud as they also dig through the mud to the firm stuff and the benefit is the extra clearance, max I use on the back is 2.00x26 and the old 2.1 do duty on the front only because I haven't worn them out yet.
