Been discharged yesterday afternoon.

Going to try to get a surgical consult asap, and have a feeling that I should search for a new oncologist as the oncologist I am with now can only be seen as absent and has 0 care for the patients in his care.

He was suppose to have seen me in the hospital, but he did not take the 1 minute to walk down the hall, open a gate, take 10 steps and he would be at my room. He was also suppose to revere me to a surgeon, but he did not even do that. So I am not in a very good place at the moment.

Just received a call.  My mobility Scooter will be delivered tomorrow.  Thanks to everyone that transfered money into my account.  I would not be able to pay for the scooter out of my own pocket and you helped a lot.

Will be great to be able to get out there and see what is going on in the world.  My aunt from the Cape phoned us last night and they want us to visit them in the Cape in the near future.

Just have to phone the surgeon tomorrow and get a date to see him.  So hope things will fall in place that I do not have to wait 4 weeks to see Dr van  Niekerk.

Great news...just as a matter of interest, what does a mobility scooter cost in ZA. ( i ask as i might need to purchase one in the future for a family member)

The one I got was a open box scooter.  So they could not sell it as new.  I paid R23500.  The original price was R29900.

So it is bloody expensive.  The original price for a new unit was some R36000 for a Pride GoGo LX scooter.  It comes to the bottom of the range, but it is all I can afford right now.

Hey Cois

As mentioned from earlier post money paid across from a previous hub fundraiser drive.

Hope it helps.

I am in tears!

thanks so much everyone! It will help plug a few holes created by the last hospital visit and the specialist visit on the way.

I am humbled by the kindness of the hubbers. I thank you all! I am not worthy of this gratitude and help. I can only go on my knees and thank you all for the help and the messages!

China - keep off the knees and use the energy to fight this thing. Everyone here is on your side and those of us who are able, are happy to help. The thing that has separated the hub from all of the other forums (at least for me) over the years, has been the community. We are all willing you / praying / hoping / believing that you will turn a corner soon and that we can celebrate your recovery as a community in the not to distant future.
