shaka Posted January 8, 2019 Share Hi All I understand the new Kickr is a lot quiter, but besides that, are there any other major differences in the 2017 Gen 3 model and the 2018 Gen 4 model? Thanks
rpedro Posted January 8, 2019 Share I think it also has a heavier flywheel that makes it feel a lot more realistic
Zatek Posted January 8, 2019 Share KickR 4 is also compatable with the Climb unit.
Furbz Posted January 8, 2019 Share i've owned the Kickr 2 and Kickr 4. get the Kickr 4 its extremely quiet compared. The loudest component is now your bicycle chain - so clean it and invest in a really good lube.the flywheels extra weight does make a big difference in in-game feel. Gradient changes are more subtle and less jerky. Pulse

Capricorn Posted January 8, 2019 Share as the others have stated, this video confirms. It's in german, but use the english closed captions. it's good enough...mostly-ish. https://youtu.be/-wG_MK6I2ZY?t=

lechatnoir Posted January 8, 2019 Share if last night's IDT session was anything to go by, my Kickr 4 will be headed back to where it came from... for the 3rd time (meaning a 4th unit) in as many months... latest issue is a very noticeable 'knock' at about 2 o'clock on each power stroke. Giving it another bash this evening and will assess 2wieltjies

Giving it another bash this evening and will assess so, the innocuous knock on the down-stroke turned into an unholy cacophony when I got on again... this time 2wieltjies was right... a google search found the exact symptom. Took the trainer apart, adjusted a few things (still need to get some loctite), and the noise is gone. I can't say if the problem is solved though....
