Pro? Me? Pro-beerder maybe  :D. I wanted to enter the Swartberg as well but then planned to rather do the TransAugrabies and now I'm doing a training course instead . Races far away always takes a bit more planning / logistics

Are you like a pro or something?!

Some nice interval training there.  I've entered the Swartberg GF and would like to nail the climbing.

Pretoria via the R55 or R511 and then up the M7 (nice climb). Klapperkop is on the other side of the lump and, if you feel good, you can go over Klapperkop, down Aries, turn around and go back and then down/up Solomon Mahlangu via Nelson Mandela Drive or go over Klapperkop and find Solomon through Lois Drive (good climb). If you really really feel good, you can turn right on Solomon into Rubenstein Drive and do a a few extra KM's up those streets (Jacques Street and Helios in particular) - good luck! Cheers.

Norfolk Road in Midrand is the best hill in that area for hill repeats.

Jip

Set aside about 6 hrs of your time early in the morning and go ride up and down Norfolk Road between Whisken Ave and Harry Galaun Dr, do it x22, it will give you about 100km distance and 3000m of total ascent

I'm always on the lookout for new hills...so it's 2.2 km long and 136m of ascent?

On Norfolk, ride from Whisken to Harry Galaun, turn around and ride back to Whisken = 4.6 km/70 m

4.6 km x 22 = 101.2 km

70 m x 22 = 1540 m

Edit: Above figures acording to Strava, double check to confirms. Did a few a couple of years ago and rode some other hills in that area and got to 106 km and 2600m

Hakahana also a good place to do some climbing.

The gravel road from bottom to the top is quite a bit of climbing.

Do a couple of sessions here and you would have done quite a bit of hill repeats.
