Christie Posted June 4, 2019 Share Rocky Mountain was an option until seeing the amount of rear side to side triangle flex the Element has. Do not know if it was intended to be as stiff as a boiled noodle. If 120mm of travel is an option, then Evil the Following. https://www.evil-bikes.com/products/following-mbImo the term XC in the topic would exclude bikes like the Following and Tallboy. (I would prefer these to over XC bikes, though)

Larry King Posted June 4, 2019 Share Hi Guys, Ive owned a couple of these over the years, and a couple of exotics like a turner flux. Best bike I have owned so far is the new Scott spark, stiff light, no creaks super stiff and responsive and you can thrash it downhill. my two cents worth. wildwindfr Posted June 4, 2019 Share If I had money for a bike like that, I would go custom. Either custom steel or even better Titanium.I also drool over some of the new Lynskey TI bikes out now for 2019.Whatever you choose, enjoy!!!

lock Posted June 4, 2019 Share Some great options if you are racing for the podium. If not for the podium why not try the Ibis Ripley V4? You can race XC and have fun on the non race weekends. I’ve heard of builds around 11.5kg with a dropper so pretty damn light. https://www.ibiscycles.com/bikes/ripley/ MrJacques and DuncanDoughnuts

Blackheart Posted June 4, 2019 Share I've been recovering from injury and then surgery for the best part of year now. During the downtime I sold all my bikes and am now in the process of building up a left field trail/fun/race bike. I too was bored with cookie cutter/jelly mould tupperware bikes, so decided to build up something different. Parts started arriving today and I'll put up a pic when its all done.Basic spec:Niner ROS Steel frame. RS1 120mm fork. Tune Hubs with 3834 AM Classic rims. XX1 Eagle. RS Reverb dropper.Should be a fun experiment. PhilipV, Wayne pudding Mol, dewaldsss and 1 other
