Anyone us this ugly duckling that can give me some feedback?

Seems like good value for a two-bike carrier.

How does bikes actually secure to the upright part?

Easy to use?

Solid quality?

Any security - bike lock etc?

How does it look folded - semi neat?

Thanks

I had thule platform very similar to that.

You tie the frame of the bike to the upright with one of

It looks very similar to their on-the-tow-bar rack.

Secure to upright part: bungee cord or strap

Easy to use: very, but could be awkward to work above your head

Solid quality: yes, the tow-bar rack (which is all of the above plus a rectangular frame underneath it) seems over-engineered

Security: none, run a cable and lock through it all

Folded: the upright part folds flat between the wheel cradles

Would I buy another Holdfast rack: yes (*and only because the Thule stuff is so expensive). I hope this helps.

I have one that lives on top of my trailer.

The upright part uses a strap to secure the the downtube. I add a second strap to the front wheel to prevent wheel flap in the wind, and put a lappie on the frame to prevent scratching.

I won't pay thule money when this is available
