So how long before the okes start asking about how shallow/deep sections they should ride?

My tandem is already in Cape Town and we never even bothered taking the shallow wheels. 66/88 pappie!!!!

There isn’t rain forecast. What is the relevance of shallow or deep?

As long as the weather is better than what we woke up to in Jo'burg this morning.

Cape Town in July is warmer, drier and less windy...

Sjoe it's cold and windy. Drizzling on and off at the airport at the moment.

Wanted to go and do a very slow 40km ride this morning but I am rather going to stay inside with warm coffee ....

tell me about it.

I was fully prepared to getup this am and take a ride, but the combination of the weather and that it was still dark at 6am I decided to not risk it.

At some point I'm going to have to get some lights for the bike.

Having not ridden in 2 weeks I'm getting really worried. Will try and get out there tomorrow morning, my weather app says there will be a brake in the weather.

Rain is never the issue regarding which wheels I ride with, However the cross winds on the Chappies descent and Llandudno descend can prove challenging. I ride the route literally every 2nd weekend and when the wind is howling, deep sections become tricky... Not phased about Carbon or Aluminum because there isn't too much/if any need for instant braking/dead stops in a race.
