Pieter1 Posted September 4, 2019 Share I had the same question. Most answers were grease is okay but carbon paste is better. Eddy Gordo

Reme Le Hane Posted September 4, 2019 Share It would need to be carbon safe grease, but yes carbon paste would be the best choice.

Reme Le Hane Posted September 4, 2019 Share Thanks guys. And I take it I should be able to get carbon paste at my lbs? That's depends, I k ow mine does not keep any on hand. I don't have carbon paste on my bars, they actually told me to torqu it properly and not worry about the paste, that was like 8m ago and all good. Pieter1 Posted September 4, 2019 Share Thanks guys. And I take it I should be able to get carbon paste at my lbs?I got a small amount from mine. Figured I don’t need a whole tube as I can’t see myself using it often.
ABrooks Posted September 4, 2019 Share My lbs gave me a small sachet with carbon paste when I wanted to install a dropper post.
GrahamS2 Posted September 4, 2019 Share White grease, with a light sprinkling of baby powder, is essentially the same thing as carbon paste.
igg Posted September 5, 2019 Share I have a tube of this stuff. https://www.evobikes.co.za/components/finish-line-carbon-fibre-grip-1075oz.html It stopped the creak on my seatpost . I'm also in Roodepoort if you want to swing past and grab some, as it'll probably take me 20 years to finish this thing. Otherwise your LBS should have small sachets that will probably let you fit 10 seatposts (you use hardly any paste). I've previously bought RavX sachets from cyclelab.
