Hi all,

What would be a realistic 2nd market value for this bike?

Year model: 2010

Frame: Carbon

Fork: Fox Float

Rear Shock: Fox float RP23 (boostvalve)

Rims: ZTR Crest

Tyres: Pacenti neo moto 27.5

XT 2x10 Groupset (older type it seems)

Brakes: tbc

Very similar to this (for those who think in pictures)

Thanks to all the replies (and banter  :D ).

Here is some more info I found on the bike.

Seems it was quite the business when t made its appearance.

Are you buying or selling ?

I had a 26" XTR equipped carbon S-works epic of the same generation. I couldn't get R6.5k for it a year or so back and ended up giving it to my nephew.

Most of these bikes end up giving more value to a family member or a friend when used as an extra bike for friends.

I think what people tend to forget (not saying you did) is that the XTR or Durac Ace of years ago isn't nearly as good as the SLX or Tiagra or of today. The same can be said for premium suspensulion of yesteryear.

Case and point, I recently bought a Tiagra groupo for my gravel bike that is waaaay more refined than the Dura Ace I had on my bike 10 years ago. And my 2006 Epic S-Works is more valuable to me on the trainer than the maybe 4k I can get for it if I sell it now.

Nothing wrong with selling an older premium bike - someone else may still get lots of use from it, just adjust your expectations, you cannot compare a 200X premium bike to a 2019 premium bike (hell not even to a mid level 2019 bike).

Thx all.

Wow,from close to R10k to "pay it forward to family/friend". Talk about diversity ;-)

Will see what pans out.
