Irma all the way, she knows the industry well and picked up a few things no previous bikefit had. highly recommend. and on top of everything she's down to earth and a lekker person.

Wife is already giving me that look about the money that goes into cycling. A trip down to the Cape from Centurion is not going to go down well :P

Take your wife on a weekend retreat to the Cape.

Drop her off at a Spa while you go for a bike fit.

Problem solved.

Thread bump

I'm aware that these days the frames are predominantly based on reach.

Could different riding styles influence the size bike you ride?

Based off the fact that you ride a medium enduro, would you ideally ride a medium xc aswell. Reason I ask is the medium in xc frame is on average 10mm to 15mm shorter reach.

XC frames bring u naturally more over the bars, enduro more centred weight distribution but would it be detrimental to upside an xc  bike?

Looking at specialized enduro and then buying a spez epic as an example.

Best to try the side before you buy.

sone of these new XC bikes are long. Ghost Lektor FS and ARC8 evolve have 120cm long wheelbases

reach is getting so long that the bikes are now quite uncomfortable and sizing down is the only option

This was my concern - cant buy virtually unless actually rode the said bike.

Too stretched out on a XC bike would need a very strong core and even then not comfy

thanks
