Uni Posted December 18, 2019 Share Hey guys . I recently started developing an odd warm sensation around my right knee. I wouldn't call it burning as it's not sore, just feels hot. Lasts for a couple of seconds and then it's gone. I want to spare myself endless runaround. Do I go see a physio, or GPto refer me or what? Any pointers would be appreciated. sawystertrance Posted December 18, 2019 Share Interesting. I have developed the same thing on the outside of my knee. Very, very painful to kneel on or bend and sensitive to the touch. Is yours similar to a knock on the funny bone kind of burn? Edited December 18, 2019 by sawystertrance

Mamil Posted December 18, 2019 Share Uni - asking for medical advice on the hub is probably one step below googling the symptoms. If you're worried - go to your GP - a sensation of heat could be anything from a nerve being squeezed (minor) to a blockage in a vein (potentially life threatening) and a whole lot in between. Caveat - I'm not a doctor. DJR

Chingy182 Posted December 18, 2019 Share A Simple Google search: Burning knee pain may also be caused by tendonitis, which occurs when the patellar tendon (located in the front of the knee) becomes inflamed. If the burning sensation is on the sides of the knee, it is likely Iliotibial Band Syndrome. ... When it becomes inflamed it may cause a burning knee sensation. If any of this is the case, then you would apply the RICE principles (Rest, Ice, Compression & Elevation) You can then also go see a physio if you want a faster recovery. porqui Posted December 18, 2019 Share I would probably just leave it. For me personally I get tingles and hot spots now and again. They don't last long. A week or two. Precursor to menopause !! I would have it checked up. Capricorn

MEAT not as comfy as RICE, that's for sure. http://www.thesportsphysiotherapist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/fig10-9.jpg Movement,ExerciseAnalgesiaTreatment
