Chip Posted December 26, 2019 Share Hey fellow gravity riders, Need some advice on the Silverback Surface, I currently ride a medium Banshee Spitfire, but it feels a little small (I’m 175cm tall). I was looking at the Large Silverback Surface frame in the classifieds. What’s great is it can take both 27,5 and 29er wheels. The reach is 25mm longer and the effective top tube of 35mm longer. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks,Dale
Chip Posted December 26, 2019 Share Oh yes, I do have a 29er RS Pike to put on the bike.
Mongooser Posted December 26, 2019 Share I'm 1.73m and found large 29er to be a nice fit for my height.I didn't like the medium my other mate has. Coming off dh bikes I prefered the longer large-frame The Bikes handling is very predictable, even when going full pace it was easy to corner, stable and easy to maneuver for a 29er, Hope that helps. Jewbacca Posted December 26, 2019 Share That Surface is a really solid bike. Really predictable rear end with the solid rear triangle. It's not the longest/slackest/lowedt bike in it's class, which I like. In SA that exaggerated 'modern' geo is really lost as very very few of our trails are steep enough to actually get those bikes to 'come alive' and the trade off in pedal efficiency isn't worth it. You won't go wrong with the bike and it's a good price. Headshot and Hairy
